Elevating Profile and Brand Name Through Participation in ATIC@Singapore 2008
Kick-starting ATIC @ Singapore 2008 was the launching ceremony, which was graced by several distinguished guests from the financial industry. They include Stephen Lai, CEO of NextVIEW, Gan Seow Ann, senior executive vice president & head of markets, Singapore Exchange (SGX), Phan Thi Tuong Tam, deputy CEO, Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, and Geoffrey Sawyer, head of CMC Markets Singapore.Delivering his opening address, Lai talked about the different ways of getting retail investors to return to the market - a timely topic in view of the recent market volatility that has been daunting investors. Taking over the baton from Lai was Gan, who shared with the audience six key initiatives that the SGX has undertaken of late in a concerted effort to improve market efficiency and access.“The slate of initiatives to improve efficiencies and broaden the product suite serves to attract a wider spectrum of participants. These represent a snapshot of our continuing drive to build an enduring marketplace,” said Gan. “Ultimately, the provision of an Asian Gateway must result in benefits to both professional and individual investors alike. For that, we will need to collaborate with all market participants, to add to the overall attractiveness and vibrancy of our marketplace,” Gan added.
One of the major highlights of ATIC @ Singapore 2008 was the seminars both English and Mandarin conducted by over 30 renowned industry experts, such as the likes of Daryl Guppy, founder & director of guppytraders.com and Ray Barros, accomplished fund manager, author and educator, amongst many other prominent names.
In addition, the power-packed event comprised around 60 exhibition booths, showcasing some of the interesting and useful investment-related products and services from various players in the colourful world of finance.
Being one of the exhibitors, Shares Investment was able to connect with existing and new readers, allowing them to understand more about its product and track record. Apart from being able to purchase the latest issue of Shares Investment (Singapore) at a discounted price, participants were handed complimentary copies of the Shanghai and Malaysia version of Shares Investment. Incidentally, this is the first time that Shares Investment (Shanghai) and Shares Investment (Malaysia) were introduced on local shores. With the support of the SGX, beautifully designed commemorative stamps were also given out to those who have subscribed to Shares Investment during the entire event.
Following the conclusion of ATIC @ Singapore 2008, Shares Investment is proud to announce that it would be taking part in ATIC @ Kuala Lumpur 2008 on the 22nd and 23rd of March.
