Shares Investment (Malaysia) to launch on 22 March 2008
Hot on the heels of the launch of Shares Investment (Shanghai) in China last October, Pioneers & Leaders (Publishers) Pte Ltd has recently announced yet another major business development.
On 15 February 2008, Pioneers & Leaders (Publishers) Pte Ltd, through its Malaysian subsidiary, Pioneers & Leaders (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, signed a strategic alliance agreement with NextVIEW Sdn Bhd, a leading provider of high quality real-time financial data, news, analytics and decision support tools, to jointly introduce Shares Investment (Malaysia) to investors in Malaysia.
Receiving immense support from Bursa Malaysia, the ceremony drew a marvelous turnout, attracting great interest from major press and media in Malaysia. Notably, the event was graced by Bursa Malaysia’s CEO, Dato’ Yusli Mohamed Yusoff, who also witnessed the sealing of the strategic alliance agreement between Pioneers & Leaders (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and NextVIEW Sdn Bhd.
The much-anticipated Shares Investment (Malaysia), which is slated for official launch on 22 March 2008, is a publication that contains comprehensive facts and figures of all the companies listed on the Malaysian bourse. Available in both English and Chinese, Shares Investment (Malaysia) provides key financial indicators, such as yield and price-earnings ratio that are commonly used by investors in their investment decision-making procedures. The publication also comprises the companies’ financial results for the past five years and their share price performances.
“Despite the convenience, speed and power of the Internet and PC, traditional investors still want something they can hold in their hands; that they can carry around with them for quick reference without having to power up the PC, look for a WiFi hotspot and log in,” commented NextView’s CEO, Stephen Lai. “In Malaysia, especially, Internet access may not be readily or conveniently available in small towns or outside the major urban areas,” Lai remarked.
Making its debut on the Singapore stock market in July 1995, Shares Investment (Singapore) has grown from strength to strength throughout these 13 years, garnering admirable reviews from the investing public and luminaries in the financial industry. More importantly, Shares Investment (Singapore) enjoys the unwavering support from prominent local stockbroking houses, amongst many others UOB-Kay Hian, Phillip Securities, Kim Eng Securities and DBS Vickers Securities - in all accounting for more than 30,000 readers.
In October last year, Shares Investment (Shanghai) was launched in China, featuring companies listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Within three months, the publication has obtained a readership of more than 100,000 people.
“Shares Investment (Malaysia), together with its sister publications, reflects our continued belief in the importance of bringing fundamental investment information into the hands of investors,” said Phan Tjun Sern, chairman of Pioneers & Leaders (Publishers) Pte Ltd, in his opening address. “Just like in China and Singapore, we believe that Shares Investment (Malaysia) would equip investors with necessary information to make informed investment decisions,” Phan added.
Together with NextVIEW Sdn Bhd, coupled with the strong support of Bursa Malaysia, Pioneers & Leaders (Publishers) Pte Ltd appears determined to continue with its endeavor of providing Malaysian investors with authoritative, timely, accurate and important shares information in the challenging world economy of today and beyond.
